Only a few ingredients are required to make this wonderful keto avocado toast. You can also substitute your favorite toppings for the ones listed below:
Keto bread – There are various low-carb bread alternatives to select from, whether you bake your own or buy it from a store. Some are gluten-free, while others are wheat-based, and their carbohydrate content varies. I’ve included a few of my favorites below the recipe.
Avocado – Top toasted bread with sliced or mashed avocado.
Smoked salmon – Provides protein and flavor to avocado toast. Look for smoked salmon that has no added sugar.
Capers – An optional addition that complements salmon well.
Seasoning – salt, pepper, paprika
1. Toast bread – Toast two slices of keto bread in a toaster, under the broiler in the oven, or in an air fryer.
2. Add avocado – Smash or slice avocado onto each slice of toasted bread. Sprinkle seasoning.
3. Add toppings – To each slice, top with smoked salmon and capers if using.
